Riggs Washington DC, the new independent hotel from Lore Group - located in the capital's Penn Quarter neighborhood - will officially reopen on August 11th.

The Riggs team is excited to welcome back guests and introduce them to the Rooftop at Riggs - a sophisticated space with panoramic views of the city, offering a bright and breezy menu of Mediterranean inspired aperitifs and seasonal cocktails, which will be available on August 13th. The menu, conceived by Chef Patrick Curran, will feature ricotta and peaches with crostini, chips, and dips that include white bean and black garlic, roasted French onion, and smoked red pepper and chickpea relish; nostalgic ice cream sandwiches, and a selection of Aperitivo and spritz. Between the 1,500-square-foot walkout terrace and the indoor space for hot and humid summer days, Rooftop at Riggs will deliver an entirely new way to take in the District. In addition to being open to the public Thursday - Sunday, the dynamic space is also available to book for private functions, offering floor to ceiling glass walls and flexible sliding wall partitions to accommodate a variety of small-gathering needs.

Similarly, the hotel's not-yet-unveiled, apartment-style Riggs Suite - once the boardroom of the "Bank of Presidents," - is a spacious entertainment space that will be available for intimate gatherings, meetings, and receptions. Much of the building's original stonework and delicate architectural features have been incorporated into its design including a stone fireplace mantelpiece and plaster corbels that highlight the vaulted ceiling arches, and an oversized chandelier to elevate the soaring ceiling. Located on the 10th floor, the room features a wet bar, lounge area, table seating for 12, one large bathroom, and two interconnecting deluxe king bedrooms accommodating up to 4 overnight guests.

Cafe Riggs, the modern, all-occasion restaurant located on the ground floor of the hotel, has also recently reopened with a charming new outdoor terrace and menu favorites. Chef Patrick Curran and the team are excited to bring the casual yet grand European brasserie experience back to the city.

To provide an enhanced guest experience and a safe environment for all visitors, hotel staff will adhere to CDC guidelines including the wearing of protective facemasks and more. Contactless payment, check-in/out and menus, along with the frequent deep cleaning and sanitizing of spaces, practicing of social distancing, and regular employee health checks will also be enforced.

Riggs Washington DC sits in the former home of Washington D.C.'s Riggs National Bank. In conceptualizing and designing the property, Lore Group Creative Director Jacu Strauss invoked the spirit of the former bank while preserving and restoring much of the property's original design features to reimagine the storied building for the modern traveler. The 181-room hotel is home to the all-occasion European brasserie-inspired restaurant Café Riggs, and features playful nods to the building's rich past, offering something personal and serendipitous around every corner. Riggs is the first U.S. hotel from international hospitality company Lore Group - behind the iconic and award-winning Pulitzer Amsterdam and Sea Containers London - and is ideally situated opposite the National Portrait Gallery and within walking distance of many of the capital's must-see attractions including The White House, Capitol Hill, the National Mall, and Memorial Park.

Bookings can be made directly via the hotel's website www.riggsdc.com. Currently available is an 'Open Invitation' limited time special offer, which includes 30% off their best available rate, a $50 dining credit per stay, along with complimentary room upgrade, late checkout, and parking.

Rooftop at Riggs is open Thursday and Friday from 4 pm -10 pm, Saturday from 12 pm -10 pm, and Sunday from 12 pm -8 pm. The space offers 1,500 square feet of outdoor space with a capacity of 44 guests. Bookings can be made at https://www.sevenrooms.com/reservations/riggsrooftopwashingtondc/offers-dir.
