The outlook for hospitality sector in the Middle East remains upbeat as the corporate and leisure travel industry shows steady growth despite unrest in some parts of the region, according to a senior executive of hotel. The occupancy levels and revenues for hotels in Dubai recorded marked improvement last year as more tourists visited the emirate after popular Arab spring.

DUBAI -- The outlook for hospitality sector in the Middle East remains upbeat as the corporate and leisure travel industry shows steady growth despite unrest in some parts of the region, according to a senior executive of hotel.

The occupancy levels and revenues for hotels in Dubai recorded marked improvement last year as more tourists visited the emirate after popular Arab spring.

“Dubai overall had a very good year as occupancies grew and average rates increased. The revenue per average room increased by 12 per cent in the last quarter,” Heinz F. Grub, general manager of the Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel and Towers, told Khaleej Times during an interview.
