London and Regional U.K. reported positive revenue-per-available-room (RevPAR) growth in 2011, according to data from STR Global, the leading provider of market data to the hotel industry. Despite its challenges throughout the year, demand grew in the majority of U.K. destinations. For 2012, STR Global forecasts a slight RevPAR increase for London and Regional U.K.

The U.S. hotel industry experienced increases in all three key performance metrics during the week of 15-21 January 2012, according to data from STR. In year-over-year comparisons for the week, occupancy was up 3.9 percent to 51.4 percent, average daily rate increased 3.7 percent to US$99.96 and revenue per available room was up 7.8 percent to US$51.39.
