DEHOGA (German Hotel Association)
DEHOGA (the acronym stands for Deutscher Hotel- und Gaststättenverband) is an organization that since its foundation in 1949 has represented the economical, social and professional interests of the entire HORECA industry - ranging from luxury hotels to snackbars and canteens - in Germany. With almost 90,000 - voluntary - members DEHOGA can avail itself of the intensive support in terms of finance, knowledge and contacts of a large share of this major industry that comprises 220,000 enterprises with an annual overall turn-over of 110 billion deutschmarks and a workforce of 1.1 million.
Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI)
Destination Marketing Association International represents 1,350+ professional members from more than 600 destination marketing organizations throughout nearly 30 countries. Called the International Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus (IACVB) until August 2005, the association and its leadership have worked to enhance the professionalism, effectiveness and image of CVBs and tourist boards since 1914.
Dominican Republic National Hotel & Restaurant Association (ASONAHORES)
Currently there are 120 hotel members, with 33,377 rooms that represent 70% of the national tourism inventory. The hotel association also has as members 45 restaurants and 189 allied members that supply goods and services to the gastronomic and hotel establishments. Founded on June 18, 1962, it is a private entity organized and established under the Dominican law under the “Non- profit Organization”. ASONAHORES, is the leader in the private tourist sector and handles significant roles with private and public institutions that are interested in highlighting the importance tourism has on the economic and social aspects of the country, as well as, the importance of the gastronomic and hospitality industry in our nation, claiming the necessary attention that authorities must dispense.
