ITT Sheraton Improves Customer Satisfaction With Inprise Solution Built by Apogee Info Systems
SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif./ At its annual Inprise Conference last week in Denver, Inprise Corporation announced the winner of its Business Solutions Program (BSP) "Application of the Year" award. The overall winner was Apogee Information Systems of Marlboro, Massachusetts, for the global sales-force-automation and customer-care application it developed for ITT Sheraton hotels.
Other finalists for the award included CommonVision of Houston, Texas, for its order-processing and accounting application for Amerex, a Texas-based brokerage firm; and Compuware of Columbus, Ohio, for its Java-based enterprise human-resource application used by over 6,000 employees of the Ohio Department of Transportation.
"Our systems-integration partners are using Inprise technology to solve the mission-critical, enterprise-wide business needs of our customers," said John Floisand, Inprise senior vice president of worldwide sales. "The Application of the Year Awards showcase some of these successes and highlight Inprise's ability to collaborate with partners to solve enterprise-scale business problems."
Sheraton's new system links its mobile sales force to a central reservation system and also enables ten sales offices around the globe to transmit their data to a central database server. Apogee used Inprise's Delphi as the primary development environment for Sheraton's Corporate Travel Information System. As a result, Sheraton has dramatically reduced operating costs, improved efficiency, and increased customer satisfaction.
"Both ITT Sheraton and Apogee are extremely pleased to be recognized in this fashion," says Joseph T. Holland, Apogee director of consulting services. "As an Inprise Premier Integrator Partner, it is our mission to help clients like Sheraton take advantage of the tremendous power and flexibility of Inprise products. Using Delphi, we were able to deliver a complex, distributed application within a rapid project cycle of four months. "
Additionally, honorable mention awards were presented to the following BSP systems integrators: Acadia Software, Inc.; Dunn Systems, Inc.; Enabling Technology, Inc.; Interlink Group, Inc.; Marotz, Inc.; NetNumina Solutions, Inc.; PCSI, Inc.; Sage U.S., Inc.; Smart Shop Software, Inc.; and Transactional Network Solutions, Inc.
