Jack Corgel to Assume Full Professorship at Cornell University - Will Continue to Assist HRG
Atlanta, GA - John B. "Jack" Corgel, Ph.D., Managing Director of Applied Research at the Atlanta-based Hospitality Research Group ("HRG"), the research affiliate of PKF Consulting, will be returning to The Hotel School at Cornell University after a three-year leave of absence. Corgel returns to Cornell to assume a full professorship and will eventually become the holder of the Baker Chair of Real Estate.
"Dr. Corgel's contributions to the creation, growth and development of HRG over the past three years have been significant. Jack conceptualized both our Benchmarker® and Price-Ranger® products, and client response to these management tools has exceeded our expectations," noted Woodworth. In addition, Corgel initiated the Firm's partnership with Boston-based Torto Wheaton Research ("TWR") and has played a key role in the joint development of the metropolitan level econometric forecasts targeting the domestic lodging industry with TWR. "We are fortunate that Jack will continue to provide guidance in the areas of Applied Research, Litigation Support, and Product Development for HRG," noted Woodworth.
"This opportunity enables me to achieve some important goals related to the blending of academic and applied research with teaching" said Corgel. "My ability to help direct research efforts at HRG, while at the same time resume my academic pursuits, affords me an ideal situation. The experiences gained over the past three-plus years at HRG provide an expanded dimension upon my return to the classroom," noted Corgel.
Corgel will be returning to Cornell effective July 1, 2003.
