The UCF Rosen School of Hospitality installs Visual One Systems
The UCF Rosen School of Hospitality Management, Orlando Florida will open its new 159,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility in January.
ROCKVILLE, MD -- Visual One Systems Corporation, a supplier of management software to the hospitality industry since 1977, has donated its Visual One Property Management, Sales &Catering, Accounting, Point of Sale and GolfPro systems to UCF Rosen School of Hospitality
ROCKVILLE, MD -- Visual One Systems Corporation, a supplier of management software to the hospitality industry since 1977, has donated its Visual One Property Management, Sales & Catering, Accounting, Point of Sale and GolfPro systems to UCF Rosen School of Hospitality.
The Visual One donation will be installed in the School's computer labs and will be integrated into the lodging management curriculum. Students will be able to simulate actual managerial situations using real time data in a training mode.
In addition to the software modules described, above, Visual One Systems offers Spa, Web Page interface, Back Office Accounting, condominium accounting, club management, and central reservations software.
Orlando businessman and hotelier Harris Rosen, who also serves on the UCF Board of Trustees, has donated more than $20 million to UCF and the Rosen School, which was named for him in 2000. Other hospitality giants, including the Orlando/Orange County Visitors & Convention Bureau, Darden Restaurants Inc., Marriott, Walt Disney World Co., the Universal Orlando Foundation and the Anheuser-Busch Foundation/SeaWorld,
Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP), American Resort Development Association (ARDA) and Central Florida and Lodging Association (CFHLA) have donated a total of more than $10.5 million to the Rosen School. All donations are eligible for state matches.
The Rosen School has more than 900 undergraduates, 40 graduate students and 23 full-time faculty members, and offers studies in hospitality management, restaurant management, theme parks and attractions management, time share management and event management. Rosen School Dean Abe Pizam said that by 2005 the school expects to have 1,000 undergraduates, 100 graduate students and 35 full-time faculty members.
Since 1977, Visual One Systems has provided software systems to the hospitality industry. Their Windows-based products, using a Microsoft SQL database, include property management, sales & catering, restaurant point-of-sale, back-office accounting, and golf course management. The company has 1500 sites worldwide and has many well-known customers including Rosen Hotels and Resorts, Sandals, Club Resorts, Pinehurst, The Royal Westmoreland, and the Marriott IOI Palace Malaysia.
