COLUMBIA, Md., MICROS Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MCRS) , a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality industry, and The CBORD Group, Inc., a leading supplier of privilege control solutions for healthcare facilities, corporations and colleges and universities throughout North America, are celebrating 20 years of delivering fully integrated transaction processing for campus, corporate and health care dining establishments.
Today, CBORD serves over 600 clients, and its privilege control and cashless systems are robust tools for managing individual and departmental privileges and accounts in any institutional environment. MICROS Systems is a global provider, with hospitality and retail implementations exceeding 150,000. But when the relationship between these two technology leaders began in 1984, business technology was very young. There was no public Internet, the stand-alone PC was just beginning to appear on individual desktops, and networking was a cable to your printer.
Today's MICROS point-of-sale solution, with its extensive functionality and intelligence, is vastly different from the company's first CBORD installation. Nevertheless, the objectives remain the same: to streamline and optimize operations to serve customers and clients better while protecting and growing revenue.
"Clear focus, continual innovation and consistent profitability have established us as an outstanding leader in the managed services markets of higher education, business and industry, and health care," explained CBORD Vice President, Bruce Lane. "By partnering with MICROS, we have enhanced CBORD's capability with turnkey sales, implementation, and support. And in MICROS, we found a world-class vendor having the interest and capacity to provide high standards of delivery excellence to our marketplace."
"We continue to meet each other's mission statements, believing that only by viewing the end user customer as partners can we serve all our stakeholders effectively," noted Alan Hayman, MICROS Executive Vice President. "We're thrilled that a company whose founder, John Alexander, was voted Entrepreneur of the Year by Deloitte & Touche in 2003, is ranked among the top MICROS value added resellers year after year."
