COLUMBIA, Md. | MICROS Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MCRS) , a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality industry, will debut the new MICROS e7 system at the National Restaurant Association show in Chicago, Illinois, May 22 - 25, 2004. The MICROS e7 is the 10th generation MICROS point-of-sale system to be released in the Company's history, and targets the independent restaurateur with a robust feature set and high quality hardware packaging.

MICROS e7 utilizes MICROS's revolutionary Workstation 4 (WS4) POS terminal. The WS4 is built on the robust Microsoft(R) Windows(R) CE .NET platform, and is a feature rich, highly reliable POS terminal, available at a lower cost than many traditional PC-based systems. This combination of a robust hardware platform and reliable operating system provides MICROS e7 users with a lower total cost of ownership over the life of the product.

An appealing feature of the new MICROS e7 is that the restaurateur's investment is protected as their business grows. "MICROS has a long history of providing effective migration paths for its customers, allowing their point- of-sale investment to be leveraged as their business grows and requirements change," stated Tom Giannopoulos, Chairman & CEO of MICROS Systems, Inc. "All MICROS e7 terminals, peripherals, and network components work with MICROS's marquee POS products, the industry leading LES 9000 and RES 3000 product sets. Additionally, MICROS e7 customers can extend the functionality of their system with add-on MICROS products and services, including integration with our mymicros.net enterprise information portal."

"MICROS continues to focus on being a technology innovator in order to supply the independent restaurateur with an affordable, fully-featured point- of-sale solution," continued Mr. Giannopoulos. "We have an extensive distribution network across the US that is excited to offer this product to the many restaurateurs they serve."
