Pacific Northwest's McMenamins Properties to Centralize, Streamline Booking and Databases with MICROS OPERAXpress Suite
McMenamins Expanding Relationship with MICROS by Integrating its MICROS 3700 POS in F&B Establishments with Newly Implemented MICROS Multi-Property Suite
COLUMBIA, Md., MICROS Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: MCRS - News), a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality industry, and McMenamins Inc., a brewpub and hotel company with locations in Oregon and Washington State, have signed an agreement to implement the MICROS OPERAXpress Multi-Property Management System throughout its hotel properties and catering venues.
McMenamins management desired to better control and streamline operations of properties with multiple locations and varying sizes, ranging from 11 to 138 rooms. McMenamins believed a central database would also give the company valuable guest information to improve marketing and service. By implementing MICROS OPERAXpress Multi-Property systems, McMenamins gains a single, centralized database accessible to all properties. All properties share guest, company, group and travel agent profiles, while each property maintains distinct financial and detailed reservation data. Centralized Sales and Catering activities will enable the sales team to effectively sell their own inventory, as well as cross-sell other properties. The OPERA Web Suite will allow reservations to be booked real-time directly from McMenamins website into the system.
The MICROS 3700 Point-of-Sale (POS) system is installed in 18 of the 51 McMenamins properties, and a continuing deployment of MICROS 3700 is underway to appropriate sites. McMenamins is also evaluating mymicros.net as a regional and centralized reporting tool, using mymicros Financial Forms to gather information from pubs that do not currently have a POS system.
"MICROS, whom we value as the supplier of our food and beverage technology, can help us streamline hotel and pub operations and give us the reporting tools we need to manage and market better," said Larry Dortmund, CFO with McMenamins Pubs & Breweries. "In addition, OPERAXpress allows us to operate our own real-time web booking engine permitting our customers to book their travels directly with no transaction fees."
"McMenamins' partnering with MICROS will enable this unique hotel group to benefit from total integration, allowing capture and utilization of real-time data at all of the venues throughout the McMenamins properties," explained Tom Giannopoulos, Chairman and CEO of MICROS Systems.
