Following a radical transformation, The Cumberland Hotel has re-opened in October featuring a unique fusion of design and technology. With 1000 rooms, the hotel offers style, comfort and personal service providing a de luxe experience for business and leisure guests.

The modernisation meets the needs of guests seeking something different from a large, modern hotel. Throughout its design, the hotel exhibits modern British art and the latest in design technology giving guests an experience that is in contrast with boutique hotels and the Phillipe Starck style.

The hotel is the first in the UK to operate under Thistle Hotels’ new de luxe brand Guoman. “The Cumberland is a flagship in every sense, and the perfect hotel with which to launch the Guoman brand. It occupies a superb location at the top of Park Lane on Oxford Street, and aims simply to offer a unique experience to leisure and business users alike,” says Beverly King, Chief Operating Officer, Thistle Hotels.

The Cumberland experience begins the moment you enter the spacious lobby which is intended to be more gallery than traditional hotel reception. Sculpture and two-dimensional pieces from some of the UK’s leading contemporary artists are exhibited together with electronic projections on water and a unique sound installation.

Our commitment to service is absolute and we’re striving to make every detail of The Cumberland experience perfect.”
