ENTER 2006 in Lausanne: „Olympian Innovation“

ENTER 2006 (January 18-20), which will take place in the „Olympic capital“ Lausanne (Switzerland), will bring together top ranking practitioners, researchers, destination managers and consultants to debate benchmarking projects in the travel and tourism industry. ENTER is the annual conference of the International Federation of IT and Travel & Tourism (IFITT)., 05.12.2005

An exciting collection of leading speakers from all walks of the industry will highlight the latest developments in Information Technologies and their influence on customer relationship and the business models of tourist organisations, hotels or tour operators.

Richard Zwicky is CEO of Metamend Software, a Canada based firm whose Search Engine Optimization software is recognized as the world leader in its field. He will talk about “Search Engine Marketing”. Presentations on the Costs of New Distribution Channels, Enhancing the Guest Experience or Innovative Packaging Strategies will give the delegates an insight into new market places and marketing strategies.

The Business Innovation Track of ENTER 2006 will see speakers from Yahoo, Expedia, Eyefortravel, Travelmole, IBM, the Accor hotelgroup or the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group as well as representatives from Destination Management Organisations who will give an insight into the best practise examples of their online strategies: International benchmarking projects from Lapland to Egypt, from Scotland to Moscow will be presented as well as the New European portal – a co-ordinated online strategy of European destinations.

Complementing the highly focused plenary programme is the Research programme, a unique feature of the ENTER conferences. This attracts leading tourism researchers from universities worldwide and will be chaired by Martin Hitz from the University of Klagenfurt/Austria. The research papers address issues like Guides & Information Systems, Website Evaluation and Design, Behaviour Analysis or Customisation.
