Hotel Information Systems Selected for base2stay - London's New Concept in Urban Accommodation
Lake Forest, CA | Hotel Information Systems, is delighted to announce that base2stay has selected the epitome.NET Property Management System and Hotel Information Systems core Reservation Portal as the technology solution for their new London property which opens on 17th April 2006.
base2stay offers a new approach to urban accommodation by blending aspects of serviced apartments with boutique hotels to offer a synthesis of what guests really need and use. By concentrating on stylish, comfortable and fully air-conditioned rooms that feature state-of-the-art communications and kitchenettes, and editing out many of the unnecessary extras available at traditional hotels, base2stay is able to offer excellent standards of accommodation from just £80 per room including VAT. base2stay's first property opened in Kensington this past April. The 67-room hotel offers flexible accommodation options and 24-hour reception and the informative in-room ‘base directory’ which highlights the wide array of local amenities available to guests including supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, shops, gyms and launderettes all of which are only a phone call, click or short walk away.
Hotel Information Systems was primarily selected to support the planned expansion of base2stay. Hotel Information Systems offers an Internet native .NET centralised solution, where the current server will be moved from its initial hotel location into a central hosting facility where it will manage multiple units. All properties will also be connected to the HIS Reservation Portal allowing for real time management of web bookings.
epitome.NET PMS has been developed from the ground up using the Microsoft .NET™ Internet framework. Hotel Information Systems fast tracked the development process by taking their popular epitome Windows PMS as a framework and reproduced the same level of functionality in the new epitome.NET PMS. This results in a system that not only takes advantage of the latest technology but also contains richness in functionality that is more typically found in systems of some years standing.
Nassar Khalil, General Manager of base2stay, said “We spent considerable time and effort in assessing solutions from several different companies using a number of criteria, enabling us to be able to take a balanced view of what was on offer before deciding. We concluded that with Hotel Information Systems’ strong roots in hospitality and global presence, we can leverage their experience and expertise to assist our business expansion in the future. On a day to day basis our operators liked the clear and straight forward design of the system which we feel will make training and familiarisation with the system much easier”.
Brian Bowerfind, VP & GM of Hotel Information Systems International Business Unit commented, “Our Company has devoted a great deal of effort and resources in developing a property management system that will help hotels maintain a high level of customer focus whilst substantially reducing the cost of ownership. The hotel industry is already extremely excited about this new system and we are confident that our current and future users will be particularly pleased with the new generation of hospitality technology and its capabilities. We are very proud to partner with base2stay and provide them with their hotel management systems for the future. With yet another major contract awarded to Hotel Information Systems, the market has begun to realize there is a company that exceeds clients’ normal expectations of customer service and product innovation”.
