ACTE’s Global Education Conference and BTN’s Corporate Travel World to Convene Under One Roof
A new agreement between the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) and Business Travel News (BTN) will now make it possible for travel management professionals to attend two great events at the same time. According to a statement issued today by ACTE’s Executive Director Susan Gurley, the organization’s Global Education Conference in Washington, D.C.
“An event of this magnitude is a great way for ACTE to mark it’s Twentieth Anniversary as an industry leader. This endeavor combines the power and depth of Corporate Travel World with ACTE’s educational and global scope. An ACTE Global Conference and BTN’s Corporate Travel World -- under one roof and with one registration process -- will provide the industry with unparalleled potential,” said Susan Gurley, ACTE’s Executive Director. “This is another first for our profession.”
Travel managers and suppliers lauded the new agreement, following its announcement by ACTE President Richard Crum, in his opening address to the general assembly at ACTE’s Global Conference in Munich yesterday. The consensus was that this agreement would make it possible for a greater number of travel management executives to attend this expanded event, rather than have to choose between the two. One registration fee entitles participants to joint networking and educational events. The decision to combine both programs was perceived as a great time-saver and a substantial value for one registration fee.
Crum described ACTE’s membership response to the announcement as “enthusiastic and encouraging.”
“Business Travel News is thrilled to join forces with ACTE to combine Corporate Travel World and the Global Education Conference – two preeminent events in the corporate travel industry – into one powerhouse conference,” said John DeJesu, publisher of BTN. “The united resources of BTN and ACTE will provide our industry with an unprecedented educational networking forum, and corporate buyers and suppliers will have access to a broader scope of expertise, products and services all in one place.”
