Daniel R. Aylmer has been appointed General Manager of The Westin Beijing, Chaoyang, scheduled to open spring 2008. Mr. Aylmer, a British national brings with him over 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry having worked in some of the worlds leading hotels.

Mr Aylmer’s hotel career started in 1995 in America. He also spent a year in Brussels before moving to Asia where he took on the role of Director of Sales and Marketing of The Westin Surabaya, making his debut with Starwood Hotels & Resorts. His next destination in 2000 was China at Sheraton Nanjing Kingsley Hotel & Towers in the same capacity.
Two years following his remarkable achievements with Starwood, Mr Aylmer was promoted to Hotel Manager of Sheraton Sanya Resort. There he had the opportunity to be actively involved in major events including the Miss World Pageant which was held in 2003 and 2004 consecutively at Sanya.
In December 2004, Mr Aylmer left the shores of Sanya to assume his first General Manager position at Sheraton Suzhou Hotel & Towers, the position he held until his recent move to Beijing.
As the General Manager of The Westin Beijing, Chaoyang Mr Aylmer’s goal is to open and operate a leading hotel that is managed and hosted by a team of dedicated and professional individuals.
