Overcoming Disaster and Recovering on Your Insurance Claim; Interview w/ Daniel T. Torpey, Partner, Practice Leader - Insurance Claims Services, Investigative & Dispute Services, Ernst & Young, LLP

The extremely messy but careful job of cleaning up from Hurricane Katrina is well underway. The days will turn into weeks, weeks into months and perhaps even years to fully recover. But one thing is for certain, hotels are losing money today and lost money even before the preparation for the hurricane began. Just the announcement of a hurricane can spell a drop in business. Now that the water is draining, a clearer picture exists. It’s time to call in the insurance company. Ernst & Young’s Daniel Torpey, an expert in the insurance claims field, joins us to discuss his article: ‘Overcoming Disaster and Recovering on Your Insurance Claim,’ and what that call to the insurance company might sound like.
