Autogrill operates 12 hotels in the Benelux. The Tulip Inn Amsterdam Riverside is the third hotel from this portfolio to join Golden Tulip, following the footsteps of the Tulip Inn Oosterhout, which became a franchisee of Golden Tulip in August 2003 and the Tulip Inn Leiderdorp, which joined Golden Tulip in April 2005. Autogrill, with an annual turnover of Euro 3.1 billion, is the world’s leading operator of food and beverage outlets and retail outlets for mass consumption products, for motorway, airport and railway travelers.
The Tulip Inn Amsterdam Riverside is conveniently located at the river Gaasp in the eastern part of Amsterdam, within easy reach of the Amsterdam Arena, the RAI Convention Centre, the World Trade Centre and Amsterdam - Schiphol Airport. The hotel offers 192 spacious rooms, free parking and a meeting centre, consisting of seven meeting rooms that can host up to 330 delegates.
Hans Kennedie, President & CEO of Golden Tulip, comments: “I am very pleased with this new addition to our portfolio of Tulip Inns in the Benelux. The Tulip Inn Amsterdam Riverside is a great example of our successful Tulip Inn-concept: modern three-star hotel, located in an urban centre or at a major access route, offering excellent value for money. Today, approximately one third of the Golden Tulip portfolio consists of Tulip Inns, however we foresee a stronger increase in this segment for the next decade, partly as a result of the growing trend to develop profitable concept-driven business models, tailored to the mid-market.”
Mr Jean Jacques Isoard, Managing Director of Autogrill, adds: “The Tulip Inn Amsterdam Riverside is the third hotel that we are franchising with Golden Tulip. The success of the Tulip Inn Oosterhout and the Tulip Inn Leiderdorp leads us to believe that adding the Tulip Inn franchise to our property in Amsterdam, will give us additional exposure to the market and will result in an increase of revenues. Furthermore, we see the combination of Autogrill, as an expert in the supply of concepts for food & beverage outlets and Golden Tulip, a leader in the provision of mid market hotel franchise formulas, as being highly incremental to the value of our hotels.”
