HSMAI’s Hot List Will Reveal 5th Annual ‘Top 25’

MCLEAN, VA | Who are the greatest minds in sales and marketing for the hospitality, travel and tourism industries? Oct. 19, 2007 is the deadline for nominations in the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International’s (HSMAI’s) 5th annual program honoring the “Top 25 Extraordinary Minds in Sales & Marketing,” held in conjunction with HSMAI’s annual Adrian Awards.

All hospitality, travel and tourism industry practitioners and suppliers are eligible for nomination, however, submissions must pertain to sales and/or marketing success stories that were developed and implemented after Sept. 1, 2006. Nominations can be made online at www.adrianawards.com by Oct. 19, 2007.

“Each year we see a variety of campaigns that raise the bar in the industry with their creativity, intelligence and passion,” states Robert A. Gilbert, CHME, CHA, president and CEO of HSMAI. “We are honored to recognize those individuals who stand out with their brilliant and clever initiatives.”

Past recipients include: George Aguel, senior vice president, Disney Destinations; Matt Oiumet, president, hotel group, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide; Jasper Malcolmson, senior travel director, travel, Yahoo!; and Michele Peluso, president and CEO, Travelocity.

To nominate an industry colleague, visit www.adrianawards.com and click on “Top 25.” Complete the brief submission statement and include specific sales and marketing accomplishments of the nominee with examples that support the individual’s implementation of an innovative strategy, the story of overcoming a specific challenge, or the development/implementation of a cutting-edge campaign. The “Top 25” will be selected this year in mid-November, and notification letters will be sent to award recipients Dec. 1. The “Top 25” will be honored at HSMAI’s Adrian Awards Gala, a black-tie dinner on Jan. 28, 2008 at the New York Marriott Marquis. In addition, recipients will be featured in an article in the HSMAI Marketing Review magazine and receive a personalized plaque.

To attend the Adrian Awards, tables of 10 can be reserved for $3,250 or $325 per ticket if purchased by Jan. 14, 2008, after which the price increases to $3,500 per table or $350 per ticket.
