Magnuson Hotels affiliate Benchmark Inn named number one Orbitz producer for Memphis TN.

Spokane, WA -- Magnuson Hotels, the world’s largest independent hotel group, announced today affiliate hotel Benchmark Inn has been named by Orbitz Worldwide as its top producer for Memphis TN.

Orbitz Worldwide is a leading global online travel company that owns and operates a portfolio of consumer brands that includes Orbitz, CheapTickets, ebookers, HotelClub, RatesToGo, the Away Network and corporate travel brand Orbitz for Business.

Reporting the period of June 26-Jul 9, 2008, the Magnuson Hotels affiliated Benchmark Inn ranked #1 out of a field of 217 Memphis hotels. The Orbitz ranking placed the Magnuson Hotels affiliated Benchmark Inn as outperforming other top hotel chains Doubletree, Choice’s Clarion, Holiday Inn Express, Courtyard by Marriott, Crown Plaza and Embassy Suites.

“Magnuson Hotels congratulates the Benchmark Inn and owners Roberts Hotel Group on being number 1 for Memphis. Despite declining travel market conditions and a saturated marketplace of 217 competitors, the Benchmark rose to the top,” stated Magnuson Hotels company Principal/CEO Thomas R. Magnuson. The Benchmark Inn is owned by Roberts Hotel Group, which owns 11 hotels in 7 states.
