The 26th graduation ceremony opened on july 24th with all 50 students processing at the Grand Hôtel Intercontinental Paris and taking their seats in the front rows in the presence of personalities from the ESSEC business school and the industry.
Professor Peter O’Connor’s speech was a blend of optimism and humor. He spoke of the numerous personal and professional contacts the students had made during their IMHI studies. He also emphasized the importance of the alumni associations (AAIMHI and ESSEC Alumni) and the tight relationship of the IMHI family with the hospitality industry worldwide.
Each of the students’ names was called as they went up to receive their diploma. After moving their tassels from left to right they were declared graduates of the Class of 2008.
About IMHI | IMHI, the Institut de Management Hôtelier International, was founded in 1981 as a result of a partnership between ESSEC and the Cornell School of Hotel Management (USA). In 2003 IMHI achieved full independence from Cornell and joined the ESSEC MBA Pole. Following the break with Cornell, the programme was modified to take into account feedback from alumni and industry partners about the evolution of the sector and the market, particularly in an international context.
A blend of American, European and Asian influences enable graduates to acquire the skills and competencies to lead the globalization of the hospitality industry in all segments and types of organizations. The MBA is taught entirely in English.
