Elif A. Bali appointed SVP of development for Loews

NEW YORK | Ms. Elif A. Bali has been appointed Senior Vice President of Development for Loews Hotels. In her new role, Ms. Bali will lead the development team at Loews Hotels on a course of continued expansion. The announcement was made by Jack Adler, President, and is effective immediately.
Most recently Ms. Bali served as Vice President of Development for Loews Hotels where she was instrumental in several deals including the acquisition of Loews Lake Las Vegas in 2006, and most recently the development of the 414-room Loews Atlanta Hotel, which is set to open in March 2010. Ms. Bali joined Loews Hotels in 2003 as Director of Hotel Development.
Prior to Loews, Ms. Bali served as a Vice President of Sonnenblick-Goldman Company (now Cushman & Wakefield Sonnenblick Goldman), a real estate investment banking firm where she specialized in marketing, structuring and closings. During her five-year tenure, she participated in $2.2 billion in hotel capital transactions. Earlier in her career, she worked at HVS International, a private hospitality consulting firm, where she conducted hotel appraisals and feasibility studies. She started her hospitality industry career with Hyatt Hotels in Chicago.
A graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, Ms. Bali is currently in her fourth year as an adjunct faculty member at New York University, where she teaches a graduate level Hotel Market Analysis class. Professional affiliations include New York Commercial Real Estate Women (NYCREW Network), where she served on the Board for five years, as well as Women’s Hospitality Investment Network (WHIN), where she is a member of the leadership committee.
