WHITE PLAINS, NY, Anthony Mangano, CHA, Vice President of Syramada Hotel Corporation (Syracuse, NY), has been appointed chairman of the Board of Directors for the 2009 International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show® (IH/M&RS). Mangano, who has served on the IH/M&RS Board since 2006 and brings 25 years of industry experience to the table, will guide the nine-member Board as it develops the 94th annual IH/M&RS, taking place November 7-10, 2009, at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
"As a member of the Board of Directors for the past three years, Tony assumes the chairman's role with the necessary background and insight to further enhance this premier industry gathering," said Lynn White, show manager. "We look forward to working under his leadership to develop a meaningful 2009 event in these exciting and challenging times for the hospitality industry."
Mangano is a past chairman of the New York State Hospitality and Tourism Association Board and currently vice president of the Syramada Hotel Corporation, which owns and operates the Ramada Inn Syracuse. He is also a partner in Peppercorn Lodging Company, which owns and operates the Hampton Inn, Watertown, NY. Mangano currently holds several positions on industry related boards and committees, including the Greater Syracuse Hospitality & Tourism Association Board of Directors, and is the Ramada Inter-National Association Marketing Sub-Committee Chairman. He is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology.

The 94th annual International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show will run Saturday, November 7, through Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Following a full-day of conference and networking activities on Saturday, November 7, the IH/M&RS will feature three full days of exhibits from Sunday, November 8, through Tuesday, November 10. The market presents some 1,000 hospitality industry suppliers and attracts 35,000 in total trade attendance.
