Loews Hotels, Travelport CEOs to Headline Nation's Premier Hospitality HR Conference

Human resources professionals from the hospitality industry will gather next month at Wynn Las Vegas to hear problem-solving plenary sessions from a star-studded lineup of top executives, attorneys and professors at the 4th Annual National HR in Hospitality™ Conference. The conference, to be held February 22-24, 2010, will feature plenary sessions addressing hot topics in HR Strategy, HR Operations, Employment Law and Labor Relations.

Jonathan Tisch, chairman and CEO of Loews Hotels, will kick off the conference and share his secrets to hospitality success in the HR Strategy plenary session, "How Loews Employees Create Customers for Life." In the HR Operations unit, Jeff Clarke, Travelport's CEO and president, will keep the crowd buzzing and interacting as he addresses "Social Media's Increasing Role in Defining the Hospitality Organization." For the Employment Law segment, David Sherwyn, Associate Professor of Law at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, will help attendees catch up on the latest litigation as he moderates a panel of experts discussing "Top Cases and Legal Trends Impacting Hospitality HR Practitioners." And on the final day of the conference, Marlene Colucci, executive vice president of public policy for the American Hotel & Lodging Association, will moderate a distinguished panel of experts in "The 365-Day Organizing Campaign" as they examine the impact of major developments involving labor unions, employers, employees and labor relations in the hospitality industry.

"Today, the hospitality industry is working through political and economic changes that would have seemed inconceivable a year ago," said Tisch. "It is important for anyone interested in learning how to navigate our new challenges to attend this year's conference to ensure the future success of our industry."

HR in Hospitality™ is developed and produced by Human Resource Executive® Conferences, Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration and ILR School, and endorsed by the American Hotel & Lodging Association.
