Interview With Jo Masters, VP and General Manager of Americas Hospitality for SoftBrands

Jo Masters, VP at SoftBrands comments on recent developments at SoftBrands, the recent HIS acquisition, rollout of Karyon, launch of a new customer support center, as well as a preview of coming activities during HITEC.

Jo Masters is Vice President and General Manager of Americas Hospitality for SoftBrands. With a start in Finance in 19XX, Master’s career quickly transitioned into hospitality management & operations with Frontier Hotels and Resorts and then on to All Seasons Hotels and Resorts (Now part of Accor). During this time Master’s held a number of positions from Front Office Manager, Financial Controller to Rooms Division Manager and finally General Manager. In 1994, Master’s made career move when she joined SoftBrands as a Project Manager and quickly promoted to Operations Manager where she was responsible for the Support, Technical, and Training and Installation departments. In 2000, Master’s was promoted to General Manager of Australia/Pacific and then took on all of hospitality’s Asia Pacific region including Australia, China, Malaysia, and Singapore. In 2004 Master’s moved her family from Sydney Australia to Wichita, Kansas to take up the role of Vice President of Global Support and Services for SoftBrands hospitality. In this role she was instrumental in leading the implementation of setting up the Global Support team, WWSC in India and SoftBrands on-line Customer Support Center. Most recently, Master’s was promoted to Vice President and General Managers for the Americas and moved to the recently acquired Hotel Information Systems offices in Lake Forest, California. Master’s has been with SoftBrands now for more than thirteen years.
