MICROS Systems Technology Chosen for Seven Unique Restaurants at the Desert Passage Shops at the New Aladdin Hotel & Casino

COLUMBIA, Md. -- MICROS Systems, Inc. [NASDAQ: MCRS] , a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality industry, has been selected to provide restaurant management software systems for seven restaurants in the Desert Passage shops at the newly re-opened $1.4 billion Aladdin Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The Blue Note Jazz Club and the Alacazam Food Court restaurants will be using the MICROS 8700 Hospitality Management System, while the Beluga Bar has installed the MICROS 3700 Point-of-Sale System.

With more than 63,000 terminals installed worldwide, the MICROS 8700 Hospitality Management System is the most popular POS system used in large, complex hospitality environments such as stadiums, sports arenas, casinos, and airports. This flexible system has been designed to support transactions in multiple revenue centers with a high volume of transactions. The MICROS 3700 Point-of-Sale (POS) System utilizes a rugged and sleek open architecture platform, with a graphical interface that features a full-color touch screen and customizable options such as "screen designer," which can help reduce server training time and improve productivity.

Luis Gomes, Purchasing Director of Ark Restaurants in Las Vegas, stated, "We are pleased to have the MICROS hospitality management systems installed in these restaurant locations. Having one local source for the software, hardware, installation and support played a key role in our decision, and we are confident that these products will perform well for us."

"Our robust systems are an excellent choice for the high-volume environment of The Aladdin's Desert Passage shopping mall," said Ray Hanson, executive account manager at MICROS Systems regional office in Las Vegas. "With an estimated 60,000 visitors per day, these restaurants will be continually busy and therefore need very reliable management systems. Our products have proven themselves to be extremely rugged so our customers experience minimal downtime, and if a problem does arise, we are right here in the city to address it immediately."

Todd Townsend, General Manager for the MICROS-Fidelio Direct Southwest office in Las Vegas, explained that MICROS is one of the only major POS providers to have a full-service office in Las Vegas. "We made a strategic decision to support our growing base of Las Vegas customers with a local office, and it pays off for us every day," Townsend stated. "Our customers greatly appreciate our local presence and the fast, superior service our staff can provide. This commitment has enabled us to grow our business rapidly here in this city's booming hospitality environment."
