More recent appointments at Hospitality Financial Technology Professionals (HFTP) - Virginia Clariza, Mitchell Less, Andrew Moderski, Tina Samson, Thomas Steinberg, Donald Walton

VIRGINIA CLARIZIA, CHAE, INSTALLED AS PRESIDENT-ELECT OF INTERNATIONAL HOSPITALITY ASSOCIATION

AUSTIN, TX, October 13, 1998--Virginia E. Clarizia, CHAE, CHTP, administration manager of Tedesco Country Club, was installed as the 1998-99 president-elect of Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals at the association's 45th Annual Convention, September 23-26 in Washington, D.C.

A member of HFTP since 1990, Clarizia has been active in the Chapter Relations Committee for several years and served as its 1995-96 chairman. She is currently a member of the Chapter Relations, Education, and Membership committees, and is chairman of the 1999 HITEC Advisory Committee. On the local level, she served as president of the New England Chapter from 1992 to 1994, and was one of the founders of the New England Club Chapter. She is currently serving on the board of directors for the New England Club Chapter, and on the nominating committee for the New England and the New England Club chapters.

MITCHELL LESS, CHAE, CPA, INSTALLED AS DIRECTOR OF INTERNATIONAL HOSPITALITY ASSOCIATION

AUSTIN, TX, October 13, 1998--Mitchell R. Less, CHAE, CPA, senior manager for Grant Thornton LLP, was installed as a director of Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals at the association's 45th Annual Convention, September 23-26 in Washington, D.C.

Less has been active on both the local and international levels. He has previously served on the HFTP Board of Directors, as chairman of the Education Committee, and as a member of the Club, Awards, Membership, and Annual Convention committees. On the local level, Less helped with the formation of the Florida Gulf Coast Chapter and has served in several positions for the HFTP South Florida Chapter including president, president-elect, vice president, secretary, and chairman of the board. He served as chairman of the 1992 and 1996 Florida Regional Conferences and has spoken at several HFTP chapter meetings. Less is also a contributor to The Bottomline, HFTP's award-winning journal, and has been a member of the association for seven years.

ANDY MODERSKI, CHAE, INSTALLED AS IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT OF INTERNATIONAL HOSPITALITY ASSOCIATION

AUSTIN, TX, October 13, 1998--Andrew Moderski, CHAE, controller of the Harvard Club of Boston, was installed as the 1998-99 immediate past president of Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals at the association's 45th Annual Convention, September 23-26 in Washington, D.C.

A member of HFTP for 17 years, Moderski has been involved with HFTP on both the chapter and international levels. He has served as president of the New England Club Chapter from 1990 to 1992. On the international level, Moderski served as Region 1 Director, representing the New England and Mid-Atlantic chapters; as chairman of the HFTP Club and Appeals committees; and on the HITEC Advisory, Nomination, Awards, MIS Member Development, Certification, and Communications committees. He is also on the editorial review committee for the Club Financial Operations textbook that will be used in colleges and universities throughout North America.

TINA SAMSON, CHAE, INSTALLED AS DIRECTOR OF INTERNATIONAL HOSPITALITY ASSOCIATION

AUSTIN, TX, October 13, 1998--Tina Samson, CHAE, was installed as a director of Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals at the association's 45th Annual Convention, September 23-26 in Washington, D.C. Samson was the vice president of finance for Marvel Mania for two years and prior to that held the position of vice president-controller for Hotel Del Coronado.

Samson has been a member of HFTP and involved in leadership positions for more than 10 years. On the international level, she has served on the Nominating Committee and as the chair of the Chapter Relations Committee. Locally, Samson served the San Diego chapter of HFTP as a chapter officer for four years.

THOMAS STEINBERG, CPA, CHTP, INSTALLED AS DIRECTOR OF INTERNATIONAL HOSPITALITY ASSOCIATION

AUSTIN, TX, October 13, 1998--Thomas M. Steinberg, CPA, CHTP, senior vice president of finance for the Allied Hospitality Group, was installed as a director of Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals at the association's 45th Annual Convention, September 23-26 in Washington, D.C.

On the international level, Steinberg has served as a member of HITEC Advisory Committee and as chairman of the MIS Member Development Committee. He is a contributor to The Bottomline, HFTP's award-winning journal, and has been a member of HFTP for 12 years. Since his job requires him to travel, Steinberg has attended HFTP chapter meetings in Atlanta, Chicago, Washington DC, San Francisco, Colorado, and southern Florida.

DONALD WALTON, CHAE, CHTP, INSTALLED AS VICE PRESIDENT OF INTERNATIONAL HOSPITALITY ASSOCIATION

AUSTIN, TX, October 13, 1998--Donald E. Walton, CHAE, CHTP, director of finance, Grove Park Inn Resort, was installed as the 1998-99 vice president of Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals at the association's 45th Annual Convention, September 23-26 in Washington, D.C.

A member of HFTP for nine years, Walton has previously served on the HFTP Board of Directors and as chairman of the MIS Member Development Committee. He has also served on the Communications Committee and is a contributing author to HFTP's The Bottomline and a speaker at HITEC. On the local level, Walton hosted the first territory meeting in the Carolinas region to establish a chapter in the area.

Based in Austin, Texas, HFTPsm is the professional association for financial and IS personnel working in hotels, resorts, clubs, casinos, restaurants, and other hospitality-related businesses. The association provides continuing education and networking opportunities to more than 4,000 members around the world. In addition to producing the annual Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®), HFTP also administers the examination and awards the certification for the Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive (CHAE) and the Certified Hospitality Technology Professional (CHTP) designations.
