How is e-business Transforming the Travel Industry?

LONDON -- Everyone knows that e-business is changing the way travel is sold. But how many people know which killer strategies and technologies the industry leaders are implementing? For the second time this year these industry leaders from dotcom to traditional players will meet to discuss how web content, CRM and backend solutions, especially WAP and broadband, will change travel sales at the "E-Commerce for Travel USA East" conference (www.firstconf.com/travel).

"E-Commerce for Travel USA East" takes place at the Sheraton Buckhead hotel in Atlanta on September 11-12 and brings together all the key players in the online travel industry. They'll be meeting to discuss strategies, develop alliances and, most important of all, make deals and do business. This Conference is for the entire travel industry, attracting the world's biggest: Airlines, Travel Agents, Online Agents, Car Hire companies, Hotels, Cruise Lines and Destination Management companies.

The last USA show, "Internet Commerce and Technology in the Travel Industry 2000" held in San Francisco on February 28-29 was a sell-out success with 50 speakers including keynotes from Richard Barton, CEO of Expedia and Brian Thomson, CEO of TRIP.com and over 350 attendees from companies like Disneyland, Amtrak, British Airways, Carlson, Continental, Delta, Galileo, Sabre, IBM, Lufthansa, Korean Air, LastMinuteTravel.com, National Car Rental, Quantas, Radisson Hotels and Resorts, Singapore Tourism Board and Starwood Hotels.

"'E-Commerce for Travel USA East' will be even bigger, with over 40 sessions and more than 70 speakers. The information and contacts attendees will gather at this event will enable them to prosper in the year ahead," says Event Director Paloma Cid of First Conferences (paloma@firstconf.com).
