15th Hotel in Norway for Radisson SAS
Brussels -- Today is the grand opening of the Radisson SAS Hotel in Ålesund, Norway. Owner of the hotel is the Norwegian company Wenaas Hotells A/S, one of the largest private hotel owners in the country.
The hotel is centrally located in the capital of Sunnmøre, on the north west coast of Norway between Bergen and Trondheim. One only needs to walk 50 meters to reach the ferryline Hurtigruta, one of the most attractive and popular areas in Ålesund. This Art-Nouveau city has one of the largest export harbours in the world for "klippfisk" (split, dried and salted cod) and a picturesque fishing port along the old harbour.
The building faces the ocean and is located right on the pier with a wooden walkway along the landing stage, which provides a 'maritime' feel. Close to the fjord, longing the harbour, the hotel will offer views of the sea and the mountains. This first-class full service hotel offers 131 well equipped guest rooms and suites, as well as meeting and conference facilities for up to 350 people, an all day restaurant and a lobby lounge/bar.
