Executive Purchasing Program Endorses Hotel Information Systems' LodgingTouch Property Management System As Its Exclusive Property Management System Offered to VIP International's 1400 Hotels

Irvine, CA (June 22, 2001)…Hotel Information Systems (HIS), a division of MAI Systems Corporation NOW, announced today that the Executive Purchasing Program, exclusive purchasing program for VIP International with over 1400 plus hotels, has selected HIS as its exclusive provider of Property Management Systems. According to the agreement, VIP hotels can now purchase HIS's LodgingTouch PMS solution through the "Executive Purchasing Program."

"We are delighted to be the preferred solutions provider of Property Management Solutions offered via the Executive Purchasing Program to VIP Hotels," stated W. Brian Kretzmer, CEO of MAI Systems Corporation. "The selection of LodgingTouch demonstrates our ability to meet the demands of hotels as varied as those comprising VIP's membership," Kretzmer continued.

Pivotal to the selection of LodgingTouch as Executive Purchasing Program's preferred solution of choice was HIS's ability to quickly and expertly develop the SynXis interface that provides the value-added proposition of GDS and ADS connectivity for VIP's hotels.

"Finding a PMS partner that could both provide an established, easy-to-use PMS and the talent to rapidly design and interface with VIP's central reservation system was high on our list," stated Tamara Tam of the Executive Purchasing Program. "In-depth product review demonstrated that HIS's LodgingTouch is the perfect match for VIP's diverse community of worldwide hotels," Ms. Tam continued.

LodgingTouch is a robust on-property solution with modules for front office, group sales, guest history, accounts receivable, travel agency, yield management, central reservations and central information that operates on Windows NTÒ.
