MICROS Completes Record Installation of POS System at Perisher Blue, Australia's Largest Ski Resort

COLUMBIA, Md., Aug. 15 / MICROS Systems, Inc. [NASDAQ: MCRS] , a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality industry, has just completed the installation of the MICROS 3700 Point-Of-Sale (POS) system in Asia Pacific at Perisher Blue, the largest ski resort in the Southern Hemisphere. The installation includes 43-networked PC workstations running from a single server at the resort center, with some service terminals located as far as 25 miles away.

The MICROS 3700 POS System is Windows®-based and offers enterprise-wide system integration capability and overall flexibility for store management. The system's graphical interface features a full-color touch screen and customizable options such as "screen designer," which can help reduce server- training time and improve productivity. Comprehensive reporting capabilities offer added controls and up-to-the-minute analysis for the resort's management team.

Located in Australia's Snowy Mountains, Perisher Blue was created by joining four ski resorts: Perisher, Smiggin Holes, Blue Cow and Guthega. The business also comprises the 1,500 bed Station Resort in nearby Jindabyne as well as an Alpine railway system running from below the snowline at Bullocks Flat up to the main resort in Perisher Valley and then on to Blue Cow Mountain. Now offering more than 3,100 acres of trails serviced by over 50 lifts, Perisher Blue includes twenty-three restaurants, eateries and bars, as well as a ski school and other retail operations.

The entire solution comprises MICROS 3700 POS, Fidelio Food & Beverage Inventory, and complete integrated Electronic Funds Transfer POS and on-line credit card authorization with Ingenico, developed in-house.

"MICROS is proud of this record-breaking installation of the 3700 POS System at Perisher Blue," said Drew Fyfe, Managing Director of MICROS-Fidelio Australia. "We were able to complete the installation in ample time to have it fully operational before the opening of Australia's winter ski season."

"We were impressed by the way the MICROS people easily adapted the system to custom suit such a large scale and diverse operation," said David Allan, Business Analyst for Perisher Blue. "Our continuous demand for new features specific to our needs were expeditiously addressed by MICROS. We anticipate a strong, long-term relationship with MICROS as we continue to build on these systems."
