Top-Notch Speakers Slated for HFTP's 50th Anniversary Annual Convention

AUSTIN, Texas--Since 1952, Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals ("HFTP")® has strived to be an important educational resource for its members and the hospitality industry. In continuation of this tradition and to celebrate its 50th anniversary, HFTP will present popular, world-renowned speakers for its Annual Convention, Oct. 23-26 at the Renaissance Austin Hotel in Austin, Texas. Topics offered will range in subject from personal motivation to leadership to the current role the media plays in world events. Speakers include Les Brown, Gary Hoover, Mark Victor Hansen and Catherine Crier.

On Oct. 24, renowned professional speaker, author and television personality, Les Brown, will present his session, "Live Your Dreams" based on his best-selling book. In his speech, Brown will motivate the audience to shake off mediocrity and live up to greatness. Brown was selected by Toastmaster's International as one of the World's Top Five Speakers in 1992, has been a nationally-syndicated daily television talk show host for PBS, and recently published a new book, "It's Not Over Until You Win."

Also on Oct. 24, Gary Hoover, founder of the book superstore BOOKSTOP and co-founder of Hoover's Online, the world's largest and profitable, publicly-traded Internet-based provider of information about enterprises. Hoover is known by Fortune 500 companies as changing the way the world does business and as one of the greatest marketing minds in the U.S. He will present, "Leadership for the 21st Century," based on his book Hoover's Vision -- Building Lasting Enterprises.

On Oct. 25, Mark Victor Hansen, co-author of the New York Time's best-seller, "Chicken Soup for the Soul," will present his session, "The Aladdin Factor -- Startling Results from Learning How to Ask." Hansen will teach audience members exactly how to ask for startling and immediate results in every facet of their lives. Hansen's Chicken Soup book series have sold more than 28 million copies worldwide.

On Oct. 26, the Emmy Award-winning journalist, Catherine Crier, will provide a fascinating look at the part the media has played during a time of extraordinary world change in her speech, "The World is Watching: The Role of the Media in Global Conflicts." Crier has been a correspondent on 20/20, World News Tonight, and has substituted for Ted Koppell on Nightline. Crier is currently host of Court TV's Catherine Crier Live, a live, daily series that addresses the legal perspective of the day's front-page story.

HFTP's Annual Convention & Tradeshow provides a forum for sharing knowledge and information with others in the hospitality industry. Attendees participate in a variety of informative education sessions and social events, which provide opportunities for networking and learning about the newest products, industry trends, training and consulting services, business opportunities and more. The fifth annual tradeshow, produced in conjunction with HFTP's Annual Convention, will offer attendees the chance to visit one-on-one with the vendors and suppliers whose products and services will enhance their business.
