From 1995 to 1997, she managed her own training consulting business in Orlando, Fla., and from 1993 to 1995 she was director of training and team development for Pick Kwik Corporation, a convenience store chain based in Tampa, Fla. From 1981 to 1993 she held various positions with the Walt Disney Company in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., including three years as a research analyst and facilitator with Disney University.

Bauer earned her doctorate of education degree in curriculum and instruction in 1993 and her masters of science degree in industrial and organizational psychology in 1987, both from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fla. She received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Rollins College, Winter Park, Fla., in 1984.
