Eric Pearson is Vice President, E-Commerce, for Six Continents Hotels (), the hotel business of Six Continents PLC SXC, the leading global hospitality group. As Vice President, E-Commerce, Mr. Pearson is responsible for Six Continents Hotels' overall e-commerce strategy, which includes business-to-consumer and business-to-business initiatives focused on the Americas. These initiatives include more than a dozen Web sites and wireless services that are designed to capture business opportunities with customers and partners, as well as streamline hotel operations and communications. As part of his range of responsibilities, Mr. Pearson oversees the day-to-day management of these initiatives, which entail product development, strategic alliances, and business development. Prior to being named Vice President, E-Commerce, Mr. Pearson served as the Senior Director of Emerging Technologies at Six Continents Hotels, and was responsible for all Web development, guest service technologies, and research and development. In this capacity, he directed the development and deployment of the industry's first extranet site, which allowed Six Continents Hotels to access more than 40,000 pages of sales and marketing, online reporting, purchasing, and training content. Before joining Six Continents Hotels, Mr. Pearson worked for The Walt Disney Company, IBM, and NASA in different management and technical capacities. Mr. Pearson holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Central Florida.
