Gilley's Dallas opens with Aloha - New location of legendary nightclub debuts with Aloha TableService
BEDFORD, TX - Aloha Technologies announced today that the new Gilley's Dallas nightclub, which opened in October, is using Aloha point-of-sale solutions to manage food and beverage sales at the 91,000-square-foot facility. Texas Cash Register, a Dallas-based Aloha reseller organization, managed the installation and rollout.
Gilley's Dallas is modeled on Gilley's, a country nightclub in Pasadena, Texas that became internationally famous after the 1980 movie "Urban Cowboy" was filmed there. Founded by country-western star Mickey Gilley, the original Gilley's was certified by the Guinness Book of Records as the "world's largest nightclub" when it opened in 1971. The hotspot continued to attract record numbers of visitors until it was lost to a fire in 1989.
Gilley's Dallas is using the Aloha TableService point-of-sale solution at 14 terminals around the location, as well as Aloha Electronic Draft Capture (EDC) to handle the large volume of credit card revenue. In addition to the 26,000-square-foot, concert-quality showroom, this nightclub offers a 10,000-square-foot dance floor, customized catering, convention and meeting rooms, and mechanical bull riding. "El Toro," the original mechanical bull from "Urban Cowboy" is on display at the club.
"We decided to go with Aloha based on positive word-of-mouth," said Gilley's General Manager Doug Keller. "We spoke to several people in the industry who really liked it and said it was very reliable."
