Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts

Spas by Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts and sister brand Angsana Resorts & Spas bagged a total of seven awards in an international ranking, emerging as a single spa group to win the most awards. The group received kudos in all three categories where its spas could participate and was also among the "World's Top 25" listing.

The ranking was determined by a reader's choice survey conducted by Condé Nast Traveller, one of the world's leading travel publications. Readers voted for spas around the world based on their satisfaction with the ambience, décor, amenities, body and facial treatments, cuisine, exercise programmes and service quality, and scored the spas on a 100-point scale.

Newcomer Banyan Tree Spa Seychelles came out tops in the "Best Overseas Hotel Spas: Africa, Indian Ocean & Middle East" category with a whopping 97.96 points. The spa fought off tough competition from some of the world's most prestigious spa hotel groups such as Six Senses Spa, Soneva Fushi Resort & Spa, the Maldives and the Givenchy Spa One&Only Le Saint Geran, Mauritius. Banyan Tree Spa Seychelles also attained the fourth spot in the World's Top 25 list.

While the resort spa concept has been the signature of Banyan Tree Spa Group, its venture into the area of city spas has also received the "thumbs up" in the Readers' Choice Awards 2004. The Banyan Tree Spa in the company's only city hotel, Banyan Tree Bangkok, was voted a joint second (with Oriental Spa, The Oriental Bangkok) in the "Urban Day Spas' category and ranked among the top 15 in the world with 96.90 points.

The Group's one-year-old Angsana Spa in Double Bay, Sydney achieved the 6th position in the "Urban Day Spas" listing.

The multi-award winning Banyan Tree Spa, Phuket ranked among the top five in the "Overseas Hotel Spas: Asia" category. Oberoi Spa by Banyan Tree in the Oberoi chain's Udaivilas, India was voted number 10 in that listing.
