Vaterstetten n. Munich | The opening of Grand Hyatt Dubai in March 2003 presented not only a new Hyatt hotel with an impressive exterior design. But also in terms of technology did Hyatt opt for best quality. Appointed as a new IT partner, Hogatex managed the roll out of the complete software equipment for the food & beverage area. By now 14 different F&B outlets - restaurants, cafes, bars and clubs - with more than 80 terminals use InfoGenesis Revelation Point of Sale (POS) and the browser-based central enterprise dining reservation system Rendezvous.
Now Hogatex has been engaged for installation of another Hyatt property: After finishing the reconstruction - approximately in September 2004 - 9 restaurants of the Hyatt Regency Dubai will start live operations of their 40 terminals and 10 handhelds with Rendezvous and Revelation. The hardware for both properties will be delivered by Gulf Business Machines, IBM’s subsidiary in Dubai.
Central solution: Real-time information, optimized resources, better guest service
Since Rendezvous is a Web-based solution, there is no software to install. Hyatt can use the benefits of centralizing their dining reservations immediately. Revelation POS as well as Rendezvous can also be installed as stand alone solutions. Using both, Revelation and Rendezvous, Hyatt benefits from significant productivity gains. Time consuming routine tasks, which are identical in all Hyatt hotels, can be automated. The centralized database allows all Hyatt properties to access information from all levels of food and beverage and retail operations. Despite centralization, Revelation allows for the kind of flexibility needed in everyday life for each and every F&B outlet: Terminals can be programmed according to special offerings (events, happy hour, etc.). Invoices can be split quickly. - And if wanted, Revelation even manages to share tips.
These features, especially designed for F&B workflows, always thrill users. And what could improve guest satisfaction more than cheerful wait staff? Peter Fulton, General Manager of Grand Hyatt Dubai, says, “We improved our guest service significantly since we have centralized our operations. Our employees benefit from absolute ease of use. And guests highly appreciate our quicker response time and individual service.“
Grand Hyatt Dubai: 14 Food & Beverage Outlets with central dining solution
14 Food & Beverage Outlets - restaurants, bars, cafes and clubs – from Singapore seafood at Peppercrab, Lebanese specialities at Awtar, American Cooking at Manhattan Grill to Italian kitchen at Andiamo! and Vietnamese delicacies served at Indochine - are managed with browser-based Rendezvous. Rendezvous employs Microsoft .NET technology and links Hyatt’s call center directly to the front-of-the-house hostess staff. Response times have improved through the central reservation. Guest history and profiles are updated up-to-the-minute, ensuring a positive guest experience.
The Market Café: Open kitchen concept - smart cards and “à la minute cuisine“
Peter Fulton, General Manager at Grand Hyatt Dubai, reports, „We have been looking for a POS fitting our huge and versatile F&B offering. Especially with regard to our open kitchen concept The Market Café, we wanted a solution that would give our guests maximum flexibility.“
Grand Hyatt Dubai’s The Market Café is an innovative self-service style restaurant for sophisticated people. Guests acquire their own smart card, which offers them the flexibility of selecting dishes of any of the five open kitchens. The chef will swipe the card and prepare the respective meal fresh and à la minute. Consumption is registered via the card.
Both sides profit from the open kitchen concept: Hyatt realizes enormous savings for goods and materials employed. Guests will not be obliged to accept any fixed buffet prices. The cashier will only charge what they actually consumed.
Hyatt Regency Dubai: 12 Food & Beverage Outlets equipped with Rendezvous and Revelation as ASP
Reconstruction work of the Hyatt Regency Dubai will probably be terminated in August. Then, Hogatex will equip 12 restaurants, clubs, bars and cafes with the hospitality solutions Revelation - for POS - and Rendezvous - for central table reservations.
Hyatt Regency’s highly frequented night club already replaced its former solutions with InfoGenesis Revelation. “The old system was too slow“, says Ghulam Ali, Financial Controller at Hyatt Regency Dubai. The last year has proven that the solution implemented by Hogatex actually generates a significantly higher return on investment. So we quickly decided not to lose more money in our popular and frequently visited night club and implemented InfoGenesis Revelation even before finishing the reconstruction phase.“
