Marriott Vacation Club International Opens Second Resort on the island of Aruba, The 165 villa Marriott Aruba Surf Club

Palm Beach, ARUBA | Marriott Vacation Club International (MVCI), the vacation ownership division of Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR), announces the opening of its highly anticipated second resort on the island of Aruba, Marriott’s Aruba Surf Club. The first 165 two-bedroom villas are now available for lifetime vacation owners as well as for nightly rental guests.

Marriott’s Aruba Surf Club opens on Palm Beach, with two and three-bedroom villas and amenities, like large pools connected by a winding, lazy river.

Ideally set on Aruba’s scenic Palm Beach, the windsurfing capital of the Caribbean, the new resort is adjacent to the sold-out Marriott’s Aruba Ocean Club and the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino.

“The beautiful island of Aruba has proven to be a great destination for our Marriott Vacation Club owners,” stated Stephen P. Weisz, president, Marriott Vacation Club International. “Arubans are well-known for their warm ‘bon bini’ spirit, and they certainly make our owners feel very welcomed, year after year.”

Upon completion, the resort will consist of 430 two-bedroom/two-bath (1,195 square feet) and 20 three-bedroom/three-bath (1,707 square feet) villas featuring ocean or island views. Each villa provides a private balcony, fully equipped kitchen, spacious living and dining areas, a master suite with a deep-soaking tub, multiple televisions, a DVD and washer/dryer. A “lock-off” option offers separate use of a deluxe guestroom with its own balcony and a kitchenette that includes a microwave, undercounter refrigerator and a bar sink.

Planned resort features include:

  • Two large pools connected by a lazy river
  • Marriott Compass Kids’ Club program
  • Pool bar and grill
  • Fitness center
  • The Marketplace convenience store and deli
  • Access to the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino and Marriott’s Aruba Ocean Club facilities

From the architecture to the official language, Dutch influences are scattered throughout the island of Aruba, attracting visitors year-round. Known as the Turquoise Coast, Aruba offers some of the best areas for scuba diving and snorkeling, and it is world-renowned for ideal windsurfing conditions. Visitors to the island can experience rugged off-road and deep-sea fishing excursions or put their golf and tennis games to the test. Additionally, exceptional dining and shopping reflect the island’s rich culture and diverse influences.

In 1984, Marriott became the first branded hospitality company by nearly a decade to enter the timeshare industry. Now celebrating 20 years of making vacation dreams come true for its owners and guests, MVCI continues to expand with a diverse portfolio of 6,500 timeshare resort villas throughout the U.S., Caribbean, Europe and Asia.

MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL, INC. (NYSE:MAR) is a leading lodging company with nearly 2,800 lodging properties in the United States and 69 other countries and territories.
