Point-Counterpoint: Employees have changed – have employers? Can hotel hierarchy adapt to the demands and expectations of their new employee pool - Generations X and Y ? Who is winning the hiring contest – and retaining their employees? The hotel industry is often the first entry point into the labour market for many immigrant workers. How are these workers changing the industry?

Jeffrey B. Catrett joined École Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) in June 1997 and is the academic Dean. He is responsible for maintaining the School’s high academic standards, developing EHL’s undergraduate, post-graduate, research, consulting, and executive education as well as the day-to-day administration of academics at the School. His career in hospitality and education spans 20 years and four continents. Prior to joining EHL, Jeffrey was Dean of Academics at Hotel Management School, Les Roches, Switzerland. He started his career in the hospitality industry, where he held key operational management positions principally with Omni International and Swissôtel. He graduated from Middlebury College, US with an AB in Political Science and holds an MMH in Hotel Administration from Cornell University, US. He has contributed regularly to major hospitality journals. Jeffrey Catrett is American and speaks fluent French and German.
