This HITEC 2004 panel discussion explored methods and concepts to get the most of out of your sales and marketing efforts on the Internet. Topics covered include: marketing your web site, web optimization using natural search, and pay-per-click and direct feeds. Jens Thraenhart is director of Internet strategy at Fairmont Hotels and Resorts Brand Marketing and Communications, Michael Wylie is currently a VP with web firm Proceed Interactive (formerly with Wyndham International). James Zito is manager of interactive marketing development at Affinia Hospitality.



HITEC 2005 | With reports rolling in of a recovering hospitality industry, the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®) is looking forward to a successful event in 2005. Registration for the largest hospitality technology exposition and conference opened January 15, and will take place June 20–23 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California.

Produced by Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®), HITEC features companies displaying the latest hospitality technology products and services geared to the hospitality industry. HITEC also offers an exceptional education conference with presentations from experts representing all segments of the industry and in 2005 will feature keynote speaker Scott Adams, the creator of the widely-syndicated cartoon, Dilbert.

Attendee registration is offered through the HITEC web site, which will be available through June 3. Registrations made through the web site will get an immediate acknowledgement via e-mail. In addition to registration, visitors to the web site can read HITEC exhibitor news, make hotel reservations and plan their time for all four days of HITEC.

Online room reservations for the official HITEC hotels can conveniently be made through the web site, including reservations for the Holiday Inn, Hyatt Regency at Macy Plaza, Los Angeles Marriott Downtown, Millennium Biltmore Hotel Los Angeles, and Wilshire Grand Hotel and Centre. These hotels are located near the convention center, and a complimentary shuttle to the convention center will be provided for those attendees staying at one of the official HITEC hotels. As an added bonus, HITEC is offering a $100 cash rebate to those attendees who register and pay for the full conference and who stay in the official block by reserving through the HITEC housing bureau.

In addition, www.HITEC.org provides complete information about all conference and exhibition events, making it convenient for attendees to plan out their time at HITEC. Visitors to the web site will find a full conference schedule with descriptions for all the education sessions. The site also features the full list of exhibitors, a map of the exhibit hall and the most current exhibitor news.
