Thailand is the home for the First World Tattoo Arts Festival and Exhibition
Supported by Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau, Tourism Authority of Thailand and Thai Airways International, this special exhibition event on Tattoo Arts aims for 80 Million Baht revenue for Thailand

Bangkok, Thailand - The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) in cooperation with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Thai Airways International and Joy Wong, heiress of Jimmy Wong, Thailand’s initiator of the modern tattoo arts host “The 1st World Tattoo Arts Festival & Exhibition” which is the biggest and first time ever in Thailand and in Asia. The event will be held on February 10-12, 2006 at the BEC Tero Hall, Suan Lum Night Bazaar, Bangkok, Thailand. TCEB estimated to gain 80 Million Baht from visitors and exhibitors who will attend this event.

Mr. Vithaya Sintharapantorn, Director – Exhibition Sector of Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) said: “This event was implemented under the concept of “The Arts of Reflections” by Jimmy Wong, the Master of Tattoo Arts in Thailand. Tattoo can represent arts, culture belief and thought of people in each environment and society. Moreover, this event will prove that Thailand is a unique business hub of Asia for all business industries including arts.”

With the excellent support of Tourism Authority of Thailand who will promote this Arts Festival & Exhibition through their local and international offices. Thai Airways International, the official carrier, provides the complimentary tickets for artists and special fare for visitors. All support will contribute more awareness to Thailand as a business hub of Asia and it will definitely make a direct income to hotels, travel agents, fashion, retail business and food. The three-day event is expected to draw-in at least 80 million baht in overall income to the country.

The organizer of this event, Joy Wong heiress of Jimmy Wong, Master of Arts Tattoo in Thailand said: “There are many exhibitors from different countries that are accepted to join including the foreign media. We will put all Arts of Tattoo around the world together in this event which have never been done before. The highlight is the combination of Tattoo Arts and artists from all over the world such as Horiyoshi from Japan and Johnny Tootan from Singapore who once David Beckam has gone to do tattoo with. We intend to set an agenda for Thailand as the Center of Tattoo arts in Asia and have planned to set up the Tattoo Arts Association here in Thailand.”

Besides, a lot of activities have been packed to entertain all visitors such as “Tattoo Arts Body Contest”, “Tattoo Fashion Show” and “Meet the World-class Tattoo Artists”. The Visitors will learn and gain some different cultures of tattoo and technical as well.
