SAN FRANCISCO | Discriminating travelers have spoken, bestowing top honors to several hotels designed by San Francisco interior design firm Babey Moulton Jue & Booth (BaMo). Condé Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure have published their respective annual surveys of the World’s Best Hotels. Among the winners were The Peninsula Chicago, Four Seasons Hotel Boston, Four Seasons Hotel Milan, Four Seasons Resort Carmelo, and Grand Hotel a Villa Feltrinelli. BaMo designed the interiors for all five luxury hotels.

Condé Nast Traveler’s November issue revealed its 2006 Readers Choice Awards and featured The Best in the World, from hotels to cities. The Peninsula Chicago ranked Number 1 and is considered the best hotel in the United States. Reminiscent of a grand hotel of the Art Deco era, the interiors designed by BaMo pay tribute to Chicago’s rich architectural history while acknowledging the city’s sister city relationship with Paris.

Two other hotels designed by BaMo also received accolades in the 2006 Readers’ Choice Awards. Four Seasons Hotel Boston ranked #10 in the Top 100 Mainland U.S. Hotels. Integral to the success of Four Seasons Hotel Boston’s first major renovation since the property opened, BaMo’s design successfully maintains the integrity of this world-class hotel while continuing to appeal to sophisticated clientele spellbound by Boston’s old-world charm. Four Seasons Hotel Boston has the distinction of being the only 5 Star/5 Diamond Hotel in New England. Condé Nast Traveler also recognized Four Seasons Hotel Milan, rating it among the Top 75 European Hotels.

In a separate survey, Travel + Leisure also acknowledged The Peninsula Chicago, ranking it second among the World’s Best Business Hotels. In August, as part of the same World’s Best Awards survey, Travel + Leisure published the Top 100 Hotels Worldwide. Again hotels designed by BaMo ranked among the best. Four Seasons Resort Carmelo, Uruguay; Grand Hotel a Villa Feltrinelli; and The Peninsula Chicago were among the winners.
