HFTP's popular Club and Hotel Controllers Conferences, held twice annually, feature identical education programs with topics important to the club and hotel industries. In 2007, the first conference will be March 19 - 20 at The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans in New Orleans, La. The second conference will be held June 26 - 27 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

In the session “Hospitality LiteR - One-Third Less Stress, Same Great Job,” Trieber will use interactive humor, improvisational skills and props to show the three powers of attitude and how to create a workplace where people love to come to work. She will also demonstrate ways to strengthen team understanding, build up relationships and facilitate stress reduction.

In the session “How Not to Get Sued: 10 Rules That Keep Employers Out of Trouble,” Maltin will use colorful stories and funny video clips to analyze serious subjects that teach employers how to immunize themselves from legal problems. The session will explore the 10 things that employers should do (or should never do) if they want to keep their employees from suing them. Maltin will answer questions such as: Do stupid remarks equal illegal harassment? How can employers tell if an employee is lying? What is the single dumbest thing most employers do that virtually ensures a lawsuit?

Attending the March conference will not only provide great education opportunities, but also give attendees a chance to visit New Orleans which has significantly rebuilt its tourism center featuring great restaurants and historical sites. The HFTP Greater New Orleans Chapter will host a tour around the city on Sunday, March 18. The group will tour both the vibrant tourist areas as well as the areas devastated by the flood from Hurricane Katrina. The tour is complimentary for attendees and guests. The June conference will be co-located with HITEC (Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference), the largest hospitality technology conference and exposition. Attending the June Club and Hotel Controllers Conference will give attendees the added opportunity to visit the HITEC exhibit hall. In addition to the expected 350+ companies exhibiting, the 2007 exhibit hall will feature a special Club Technology Pavilion with hands-on displays of the latest in club technology. Also, returning to HITEC is GUESTROOM 2010 a model hotel room showcasing the most current and near-future guestroom technology.
