The HVS Middle East Hotel Survey for 2007 features 150 hotels totalling 45,000 rooms. Our sample includes branded four-star and five-star hotels, but we have excluded certain super-luxury hotels as these could skew the results of this survey. We only select hotels with more than three years of operating history in our annual survey to avoid distortion due to the initial years of a hotel operation; Using HVS’s extensive database of hotel operating results for the Middle East, developed with continuous support from all the major hotel companies present in the region, we prepared a GOPPAR (gross operating profit per available room) analysis for each market;
