AUSTIN, TEXAS, USA | Edmund Bartlett, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, will welcome guests to Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals’ (HFTP®) Second Annual Caribbean Hospitality Finance and Technology Professionals Conference during the Welcome Reception on Monday, December 10. The conference focuses on regional topics of interest in the hospitality finance and technology fields. Online registration is still available for the conference, which is quickly approaching. The conference, produced by HFTP and sponsored by Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA), will take place December 10-11, 2007 at the luxurious Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort, Rose Hall, Jamaica.

Bartlett is a marketing executive and long-standing Parliamentarian in Jamaica. He was recently appointed the Minister of Tourism of Jamaica during a time when Jamaica is experiencing substantial infrastructural development in its tourism industry. In 2006, Jamaica recorded 3 million visitors for the first time, with over a million arrivals out of the US market for the second consecutive year. Bartlett has expressed determination to focus on marketing, product development and investment in keeping Jamaica in the forefront of Caribbean tourism.

“We are privileged to have Honorable Minister Bartlett attend the Caribbean Hospitality Finance and Technology Professionals Conference,” said Frank Wolfe, CAE, CEO of HFTP. “His insight into the industry will be a valuable addition to the conference’s Welcome Reception as he discusses the plans to maintain the strength of tourism in Jamaica and the region.”

HFTP designed an agenda for the conference that aligns with the interests of Caribbean hospitality industry professionals and provides an opportunity for open discussion. The education program will include topics, such as “Tips To Save Money by Evaluating and Reengineering Energy Consumption” with James Post, owner of Paradise Bay Resort in Grenada. Along with the education sessions, tabletop displays and excellent networking opportunities will be offered. The conference also provides an excellent opportunity to earn additional continuing education credits before the end of the year. Attendees can earn up to 17.7 CPE credits for the conference and 4.8 CPE credits for the certification review sessions.
