AUSTIN, TEXAS, USA | Focusing on issues relevant to the European hospitality industry, the 2008 European Hospitality Technology Educational Conference’s (EHTEC) Advisory Council released the education sessions for the upcoming conference. EHTEC, a service of Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®), will be February 10-12, 2008 at the Hilton Amsterdam Hotel in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. “The European hospitality industry has many technology challenges,” said Frank Wolfe, CAE, HFTP CEO. “The education program for EHTEC 2008 will concentrate on many of these issues in a manner that will allow attendees to discuss possible solutions.”

The boutique conference will offer two full days of focused technology education and networking opportunities with European hospitality professionals. The EHTEC Advisory Council, a group of global hospitality experts, designed the conference to cover the technology topics that are most prominent in the region. The program will include sessions like “A Guide to Guest & Meeting Room Technology Trends” with Nick Price, CIO and CTO of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group Ltd, and other hot topics, such as global converged networks, green hotel technologies and data protection.

The Opening Session will feature hospitality industry experts on the hospitality industry discussing technology trends, challenges and innovations. John Cahill, CHTP, CHA, CIO of Denihan Hospitality Group and former HFTP global president, will moderate the opening session panel. The panel will also include the following industry leaders: Oliver Bernet, SVP of information technology and CIO for Moevenpick Hotels & Resorts; Carson Booth, VP of information technology in Europe, Africa and Middle East for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. and HFTP global director; and Michael Levie, CEO of CitizenM.
