
AUSTIN, TEXAS, USA | Over 130 hospitality professionals gathered this week for the popular Club and Hotel Controllers Conference, a service of Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®). The conference, held twice annually, addresses issues such as technology, legal, accounting policies/procedures and more. The first conference continues through today at the Westin San Diego in San Diego, Calif., with the second conference held June 17-18 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas.
The Club and Hotel Controllers Conferences feature identical educaiton programs and networking opportunities. Along with the general sessions, the education program includes two industry-specific tracks, one for hotels and the other for clubs.
Monday's lunch presentation included an association update and a special tour around HFTP's newly-designed web site. Anna McFarland, CPA, CFE, CHAE, CHTP, HFTP global president and vice president of finance & mangaement reporting for Sofitel Luxury Hotels North America, and Frank Wolfe, CAE, CEO of HFTP, guided attendees through the new web site, showcasing special features like the ProLinks online communities.
Immediately following the conference today is the first HFTP Regional Leadership Seminar. The seminar focuses on leadership skills necessary for successful chaper management, as well as provides a forum to discuss new ideas and innovations. The next seminar is scheduled during HITEC on June 18 in Austin, Texas. To register for the seminar, visit the HFTP web site.
Online registration is available now for the second Club and Hotel Controllers Conference, which is co-located with HITEC (Hospitality Industry Technology Conference), the largest hospitality technology conference and exposition. Attending the June Club and Hotel Controllers Conference gives attendees the opportunity to visit the HITEC exhibit hall. In addition to the expected 300+ companies exhibiting, the exhibit hall features the Club Technology Pavilion, GUESTROOM 2010 and the HITEC FAVE Awards. Attendees are also invited to the HITEC Welcome Receiption on Monday, June 16. Club professionals can also take advantage of speical HITEC 2008 education sessions on Wednesday and Thursday that explore topics on club technologies that challenge the club industry.
