Intelity today announced the availability of its Interactive Customer Experience (ICE) running on Windows 7 and utilizing its touch capabilities to enhance the guest experience.

Windows 7 is the most advanced version of Windows to date and provides a long-term, advanced application platform. The programming components found on Windows 7 will be of great advantage to Hoteliers and guests as ICE takes advantage of the enhancements in Windows 7 to provide the best guest experience possible. The smaller install sizes and increased system performance allow for more choices in hardware selection for touch screen computers.

The advances made to Windows 7 also aid the in-room solution by increasing system performance and reducing total cost of ownership (TCO). Intelity sees touch computing as the next bold move in computing and Windows 7 offers new multitouch API's that will help Intelity produce greater functionality and richer applications. Intelity is also developing innovative new features based on the Windows 7 location-aware API's to provide even more intelligent guest systems.

"The Windows 7 focus on touch technologies will undoubtedly be a key enabler in moving our ICE platform to the next level of interactivity," says Chris Grey, Chief Technology Officer of Intelity. "Through Windows 7, Intelity's development team will be able to create additional tools more easily, streamline customer service and maximize the overall affordability of the system."

The extensive capabilities of Intelity's ICE have already proven to be a success at current ICE properties, including the historic Eliot Hotel in Boston and Mexico's eco-friendly Hacienda Tres Rios in Riviera Maya to name a few. The hotels featuring ICE have seen a dramatic lift in revenues and expense reductions with an average of 85 percent of guests using ICE in a short span of time. The quick turn-around success of the solution has aided the hotels in all facets of operations, from in-room dining to restaurant reservations. All properties carrying the current ICE solution will be updated with Windows 7.

"In today's competitive environment, hoteliers are striving to deliver differentiated experiences their guests will remember long after their stay has ended," said Sandra Andrews, U.S. hospitality solutions director, Microsoft Corp. "With Windows 7 and Windows Touch, Intelity's Interactive Customer Experience solution makes new things possible for hoteliers and guests — putting interactive, relevant information at a guest's fingertips for a unique and memorable in-room concierge service."

To assist each guest in maximizing their visit, ICE features real-time updates for room service menus, resort amenities and area attractions. Beyond the in-room compendium components, ICE schedules activities, including spa treatments and dinner reservations, arranges services, such as room service and valet, and allows users to customize their language preference so all guests benefit from this solution, no matter what country they call home.
