InterCity Hotels’ big success: new top locations in Germany and East Europe
TOPHOTELPROJECTS: Large hotel with 412 rooms to be built at Berlin central station
There is a secret of success since 25 years: best city location near central stations or airports, business chic or gadgets and satisfactory comfort – with 33 properties the InterCity Hotels by the Steinberger Hotel Group are a guarantor for a felicitous hotel stay in Germany and Austria. Now six further business hotels arise in Germany. One of these is the 412-room hotel at the central station in Berlin (TOPHOTELPROJECTS Nr. 10076). In Middle and East Europe up to 15 new hotels are expected to be built in the medium term. These facts have been derived from a data analysis by TOPHOTELPROJECTS, the leading data research service for international hotel construction projects.
Feuring Hotelconsultig and CA Immo Deutschland will be the constructors of the new top project in absolute prime location in the capital. The large project arises with 19.800 square meter of gross floor space and will cost round 50 million Euro. The opening is planned for late 2013.
The new house is to be established as showcase of the Steigenberger subsidiary. Besides the amply designed conference area the eight-storey building will be the largest hotel by InterCity Hotels. The architecture office Reichel & Sauth is responsible for the architectural planning.
Feuring is also developer of an InterCity Hotel in Darmstadt (TOPHOTELPROJECTS Nr. 6499). The 140-room property at the central station will open in autumn 2012. The rooms will have minimum 20 square meters. Also planned are four combined conference rooms on 250 square meters. For Feuring the in hotel project development specialising family business this project will be the second InterCity hotel after one in Mainz.
The Steigenberger Hotel Group planned now a third InterCity Hotel in Hamburg (TOPHOTELPROJECTS Nr. 11732). Near the ICE stop Dammtor train station on the space from the former fair administration tower the B&L-Gruppe will build a new 270-room building.
The location at the congress centrum CCH and directly at the fair area as well as the short walking distance to the city center is perfect. A tower with 14 floors in planned – the upper floors will offer a panoramic view at Hamburg"s roofs, the harbor city and the Elbe. The project contains round about 13.000 square meter of gross floor space. The opening is planned for the third quarter of 2013.
The Austrian project developer Porr Solutions and the hotel company InterCity Hotels will cooperate from now on. They planned an extensive expansion of the brand InterCity Hotel in Middle and East Europe. In the next years approximately 15 hotels will open their doors in upcoming economic regions. Big traffic junction like train stations or airports as well as central city locations will be the destinations. The first locations are currently under inspection. The real estate consulting company Immologie GmbH Behrendt & Walker acts as project development partner.
The concept of InterCity Hotels began 1987 – the first hotel was opened in 1991 at the central station in Frankfurt/Main. A year later the hotels came along in Speyer, Ulm and Augsburg. In 1999 the first airport hotel (in Frankfurt/Main) was inaugurated.
