Exactly a century after the iconic RMS Titanic sailed on its maiden voyage from Southampton, Monarch-Cypress, a leading supplier of bed & bath linens to the global hospitality industry, has introduced the “Titanic Collection” of fine bed linens to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the event.

The “Titanic Collection” was created especially for Monarch-Cypress by internationally recognized, 100-year-old Irish linen company Lissadell Liddell Ireland Ltd., the maker of the original linens used in the luxurious staterooms on the Titanic. When the ship was built and outfitted in 1911, White Star Line insisted on including the finest of everything on its premier ocean liner. In addition to the highest quality furniture, glassware, silver, chandeliers and food, White Star Line hand-selected bed and table linens from the world’s foremost luxury linen maker of the era, Liddell Ireland, to complement the exquisite décor of the vessel. The staterooms of the ship’s passengers, which included some of the most prominent members of society at the time, were dressed in Liddell bedding and all dining rooms – including the Captain’s Table – were adorned with Liddell table linens.

The Monarch-Cypress commemorative “Titanic Collection” maintains this tradition of luxury. The new bedding line includes sheeting, pillow cases and duvet covers, all crafted from the finest extra long staple combed cotton from India, that has been specially compacted for a superior silky feel and added durability. Available in Queen and King Sizes, the white bedding offers a selection of 200-thread count cotton percale, 300-thread count cotton sateen, and 300 thread count sateen with a 5mm stripe. Smaller sizes and custom orders are also available including jacquard and full embroidery services. The first shipment of “Titanic Collection” linens will arrive in New York Harbor on April 17th, nearly a century to the day after the original 705 survivors of the disaster arrived there aboard the RMS Carpathia.

“We were honored to be selected by White Star 100 years ago as the exclusive linen supplier for the Titanic, and for over a century since, we have made it our mission to maintain that same level of luxury and quality in all of our linen products,” said Barry Simms, Director of International Sales for Lissadell Liddell. “We have created this new bedding collection especially for Monarch-Cypress, in order to pay tribute to the victims and survivors of the Titanic, and to provide the hotel market with the highest level of quality available today.”

Lissadell Liddell is known worldwide for their quality range of bed, bath & table linens. The Irish company is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland.

Gene Faul, CEO for the hotel division of Monarch-Cypress, added, “The RMS Titanic was the epitome of luxury in its era and our new collection of bed linens is a continuation of that tradition of excellence. We are proud to have partnered with a company such as Lissaell Liddell on this venture, and are committed to providing our hotel clients with not only the finest products, but also superior service to back it up. Initial market response to the Titanic Collection has been so strong that deliveries are now out until this summer, so we encourage anyone interested to place orders as soon as possible.”
