HOTELS Magazine Social Hotel Awards

HOTELS Magazine has named the winners of its inaugural Social Hotel Awards, honoring best practices in hotel social media marketing. All the winners are featured in the September issue of HOTELS Magazine, and will be highlighted in even greater depth over the course of September on HOTELS website, hotelsmag.com.

An esteemed panel of judges evaluated entries based on the following criteria:

  • Degree to which Results met or exceeded Goals
  • Creativity displayed in executing the social media program
  • Quality of work on the social media platform
  • Clarity of the award entry in summarizing the program

The judging panel included David Pavelko, head of travel, Google Inc., New York City; Henry Harteveldt, co-founder, Atmosphere Research Group, San Francisco; Amy Jo Martin, founder, Digital Royalty, Phoenix; Burns Patterson, COO, Middleton & Gendron, New York City; Chris Jackson, president, GCommerce, Park City, Utah; as well as the editors of HOTELS Magazine.

“With social media becoming such an integral component of every hospitality company’s marketing mix, we felt it important to search out and recognize the best in class from around the world,” said HOTELS Editor In Chief Jeff Weinstein. “We were very pleased with the initial response to this editorial awards program and look forward to making this an even bigger annual competition.”
